A drag queen in leather chaps ice-skating at midnight. But I like to think I bring a different kind of cool to the table. I’m Mikey Arroyo, a Puerto Rican creative with the spirit of an art teacher—because I’ve been one. Teaching grade school students taught me to push boundaries and embrace the unexpected, which I apply to my creative work.
From Richmond to New York to San Francisco, I’ve spent formative years at Hamilton College, VCU’s Brandcenter and freelancing some of the country’s top ad agencies, gaining a wide range of skills and experiences in art direction. I’m also a painter, infusing vibrant pieces with the influence of my Latin heritage and queer community. So let's chat about collaborations, and maybe if you’re ever in Boston we can grab sushi sometime?
What’s cooler than being cool?
